The tanker’s crew immediately issued a Mayday distress call following the strike. They are currently assessing the vessel’s condition, with initial reports indicating no casualties or injuries among the crew. This incident, occurring near Turkey’s Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ), significantly heightens existing concerns about maritime security in the region.
